This is the 3rd incarnation of the iPod Nano and is a lot more compact than it's predecessors being only 70mm in height, 52mm wide and 6.5mm thickness. It weighs in at 49.2 grams which means it's slightly heavier than the 1st and 2nd generation Nano's.
You can get either the 4GB and 8GB flash memory version, the 4GB version only currently available in silver but having a stylish anodized aluminum front and polished stainless steel back. This makes the iPod Nano not only sleek and pocket sized smaller than the classic iPod nano but also has enough storage to put up to 2000 songs or 7000 photo's or if you prefer 8 hours of video.
The 2 inch LED backlight LCD display can produce 320 by 240 pixel resolution. Like the ipod touch the Nano can play video in MP4 format. You can also buy TV shows from the iTunes store although /I wouldn't want to watch video for too long on such a small screen.
Playing music is what the Nano does best. With the new cover flow software you can browse through album covers to find the tracks you want to play. A nice visual touch to the Ipod range.
Expect to get about 24 hours for audio playing and 5 hours for video playing life from a single charge from the batteries. The built in batteries take 3 hours to fully charge via a USB lead.
