An OLED display is a technology which is slowly replacing traditional LED displays and LCD displays. It uses a thin film LED technology which is cheaper to manufacture.
Unlike traditional displays OLED does not require a backlight to make the display bright enough to see. This means less power is needed prolonging battery life in portable devices such as MP3 players.
OLED’s use less than half the power of traditional LCD displays. OLCD displays also boast better viewing angles, a greater range of colours can be displayed and brightness is a lot better.
